Peer critique
I watched Chad's haiku video. I really like the color tones, and the perspective he chose for his video. Another thing that i really enjoyed was the way the girl was drawn as well as the walking motion she preformed. I feel that having more people in the scene would improve it greatly, as well as some sound.

week 3/4
I watched the video Covert again after class. I feel that the genre it falls under is a spy mystery movie. I believe it was created in Flash. The voices and music really lend to the mystery of the video. The sound effects give more information about the film. I believe that the drawing style and animation style really works. The way that the creator uses camera angle to minimalize the amount of difficult animation such as walking. Another thing that really aids in making this video effective is the use of shadows and lighting, as well as textures. I believe that all these things make this video very effective.

Week2 Blog
I feel that The Adventures of Prince Achmed, relates in many ways to modern animation. Although the technique may seem primitive, and jumpy it is very useful and get the story across to the audience. Like many animations of today, Prince Achmed engulfs the viewer into the story and keeps them wanting more. I feel that the use of hand movements, eye movements and other subtle things create an impact that words lack. Today's animations, while mostly having voice-overs and such, imply the same techniques. Modern animation's subtle movements are often lost in the big picture due to the sound or voices, yet in Prince Achmed you are more prone to watch every subtle movement due to the lack of voices.
