The differences I found when creating the beach-ball were minimal. I preferred to use the pen tool in each application. The difference with the pen tool that I noticed was that in Flash it seem to be a little less precise than in Illustrator. The curves that Illustrator created with the pen tool seemed to be perfectly round, while in Flash the pen tool didn't function as well as I'd like. In Photoshop I used the pen tool as well, but due to the filters directly available in Photoshop I was able to give a glossy, plastic look to the ball much easier than with the other applications.
